Simplicity

Sometimes the world just seems so complicated. Today a woman I saw shared that she was so cluttered in her thoughts she couldn’t think straight. It can help to take a moment for a slow breath in and out to calm ourselves, and then think of something positive. Below is an example, but you may think of something that better fits your needs.

You’re imperfect, and you’re wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging-

Easily overwhelmed, it’s natural to become emotional with frustration. Once emotionally fraught, our brain is unable to think logically and we can find ourselves in a loop that is hard to get out of.

I’m reminded of an old acronym I heard long ago, KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid.

If we can keep from getting caught up in all the complications and distractions, and pare it down to essentials, it may help. The brain, when left to it’s own devices, may either have a tendency to be obsessive, or it may take off, spiraling down a long path in a needless direction.

Maybe it would be helpful to think of trying to simplify. Perhaps focus on one or two things.

What is essential now? And what needs to be done next? Maybe it’s as simple as that.

We are only human. Give yourself a break and the grace to let go of some of the pressure of trying to do too much, trying for perfection. There are lessons to be learned, and they are not all obvious ones. Maybe the lesson is to walk gently through this time and learn how to live a little differently, if we are ready for this.

Are you ready?
